About me

I have spent most of my working life close to the point where an idea turns into something real. That has meant different job titles over the years, but the work underneath has been the same: understand a problem properly, then build the smallest thing that solves it.

I am drawn to systems that are easy to explain. If a design takes twenty minutes to describe, I usually take it as a sign that it is not finished yet. Most of what I have learned came from taking apart things that broke and asking why.

Outside work I read more history than is strictly reasonable, walk without a destination, and keep a long list of half-finished side projects that I am slowly making peace with.
